COVID Response

June 5, 2020

Great Lakes Dental Excellence is committed to providing you and your family with the best dental care. Because of the severity of COVID-19 outbreak and in accordance with the Center for Disease Control (CDC) and American Dental Association(ADA) recommendations, we made necessary changes to ensure the safety of our patients and our team. While many things have changed, one thing has remained the same: our commitment to your safety and to provide excellent dental care. We value your trust and loyalty and look forward to welcoming back patients, neighbors, and friends.

Here are a few changes that we will be implementing:

A limited number of appointments. We have limited our number of appointment times to increase the spacing between patients and follow social distancing guidelines. Your appointment may be rescheduled, and we will have fewer options for appointments. We are creating priority lists for patients that have any dental issues that need to be seen as soon as possible.

Pre-appointment screening with your confirmation calls. If you have email or text messaging confirmation, the screening questions may be answered electronically. If we do not receive it electronically, we will be calling to pre-screen. When confirming please let treatment coordinators know if you have experienced any layoffs or changes to insurance.

Text to Pay Options. To limit your time in the office and contact, we will be offering text to pay. Treatment coordinators will be asking if you would like to use this option.

Curbside waiting room.  When you arrive, please stay in your car and call 231-799-0404 to let one of our team members know you have arrived. They will also be asking you the pre-screening questions again. You will remain in your car until notified by a team member that the team is ready for you. Once you enter the building, your temperature will be taken. You will also be asked to use hand sanitizer when you enter.

Only patients (or in the case of minor patients, one adult if necessary) may enter the office. Anyone who has come with you must wait in the car.

All patients must wear a self-provided face covering while in the office. You will be asked to wear your mask before and after your treatment.

Please brush prior to your appointment. You will also be given a pre-rinse once you are brought back to the dental chair.

Staff will be wearing extra protective wear. This may make communication more difficult, but we promise we are still there underneath our new gear with a smile on.

Thank you for your patience and understanding as we do our part to limit our exposure as we continue to flatten the curve. We are happy to answer any of your questions about the steps we are taking to keep you, and every patient safe in our practice.

We look forward to seeing your smiles soon!
